Bae Yong Joon is set to wed Park Soo Jin this end of July

For a long time, I thought that Asian heartthrob Bae Yong Joon will remain as an unattainable bachelor for the rest of his life. So it was actually a very pleasant surprise when news got around last May that he just got engaged to Kpop starlet Park Soo Jin.

Now it’s just a matter of days before Yong Joon officially says goodbye to singles life as the actor’s agency KeyEast Entertainment released a statement that he is set to marry his fiancée on July 27, 2015 at Sheraton Grande Walkerhill. It’s going to be a closed event, to be attended only by their families and close friends.

This lovely couple only met last year after Soo Jin signed under KeyEast Entertainment, the same agency that manages Yong Joon and also wherein he is a major shareholder. The 42-year old actor was said to be smitten by the 29-year old starlet’s lively personality, while she was attracted to him because of his warm and sensitive nature. The two shared a lot of common interests, such as playing golf and tasting of fine wines. By February this year, the two were reportedly to be seriously dating one another. Last May, just a few months after they met, the two were already engaged as confirmed by their management company. They took their wedding photos last month at Yong Joon’s Sunbook Dong home, using his house as their backdrop, in order to keep things as discrete as possible.

Though Bae Yong Joon has maintained a low key lifestyle throughout his career, his romantic liaisons were never a secret to the public. In 2003, he started dating famed commercial/MV director Lee Sa Gang, but broke up a year later due to their busy schedules. It’s too bad they didn’t work out together as I would have preferred this classy and beautiful lady for him.

Sorry, I just had to throw in two more photos of Lee Sa Gang, for good measure.

Okay, moving along…

In 2013, he started dating rich heiress Goo So Hee, daughter of the Vice President of LS Industrial System Co. She was 14 years his junior when they started dating, but eventually broke up in 2014 due to their personality differences. Some reports were saying that her parents were not in favor of the reclusive actor for their daughter, while others surmised that he couldn’t fit himself in to their high standard of living.

On the other hand, Park Soo Jin used to date soccer player Baek Ji Hoon for five years. She had her fair share of scandal when it was widely rumored that the reason of her break up with Ji Hoon in 2013 was due to the starlet two timing him with Korean singer Roy Kim. She vehemently denied the accusations and said that she only started seeing Roy after breaking up with Ji Hoon. Though Soo Jin and Roy met up a few times and had strong feelings for one another, the negative publicity kept them from further pursuing their relationship with each other.

Despite the arduous roads both Yong Joon and Soo Jin went through, fate still arranged for them to meet along the way. Hopefully the road they will soon share together can last their entire lifetime.

I’ve been a big fan of Bae Yong Joon for the longest time possible as he was the first Asian star who managed to catch my attention. Though I have long shifted to Chinese entertainment because of the sudden influx of too much Korean, I still google him from time to time just to know what he’s up to.

I’m actually very happy for my boy that he finally found his one true love. I sincerely wish them all the best and I hope to see a little Bae Yong Joon soon.
